Where will I be picked up from?Pick-ups are available from two primary locations: Kingscote and Penneshaw. You can select your tour based on your location for convenience. Prices for the tours vary depending on the distance from our main depot in Kingscote. To ensure a smooth pick-up, please provide us with the name of your hotel or Airbnb when booking. This will help us coordinate your itinerary and ensure you have a seamless and enjoyable experience exploring Kangaroo Island.

What should I wear?Australia has a relaxed attitude to standards of dress. However, depending on the time of year you are traveling, you may need to be prepared for the extremes. Temperatures in Southern Australia in winter (June, July, August) can get quite cold with daytime temperatures from 10 to18 degrees Celsius and nighttime temperatures can reach zero. Please ensure you pack appropriately. You’ll be nice and snug when travelling in the vehicles and staying in your accommodation but for the outdoor activities you’ll need warm jackets and a raincoat, just in case. In summer, daytime temperatures can be extreme from November to April with temperatures generally in the 30s but sometimes reaching over 40 degrees Celsius. Be prepared to endure extra physical stress due to the heat at these times, especially while on walks. If traveling in summer we recommend that you bring loose, cool, cotton clothing to protect yourself from the harsh sun. A sun hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses are a must.
-
What other things should I bring? Please ensure you have comfortable walking shoes, a hat, jacket, raincoat, sunglasses, water bottle or camelbak, swimmers, beach towel and of course a camera. For cooler months if you are camping we strongly recommend beanies, thermals, thick warm socks and gloves. It can get very cold during the night.

What vehicles do we travel in?Depending on your type of tour, we have four vehicles. On our private tours, we travel in a Toyota Landcruiser Prado. For our group tours of up to 10 people we travel in a Toyota Commuter Mini Bus, and for larger groups of up to 20 people, we have a Toyota Coaster Bus. For cruise ship tours, we do at times, for the larger cruise ships, have a 56 seater coach, along with the smaller vehicles mentioned above. All our vehicles are equipped with air conditioning and speakers so you can hear our tour guides clearly throughout the buses.
-
Who is our guide? Our tour guides are the heart and soul of our business and are all locals of the island. So whoever you have, you can be assured they are highly experienced and professional guides, whose mission will be to make sure you have the trip of a lifetime. They will entertain you with stories and educate you with their incredible knowledge providing information on the places, history, culture, and wildlife of areas you are traveling through. They will keep you safe and of course, make sure everyone is having a great time.

What dietary requirements are catered for?We are happy to cater to passengers with most special diets. On our Scenic day tours, lunch is included at local cafes that cater to most requirements. For those booked on cruise ship tours, we must know of any dietary requirements and/or food allergies at the time of booking as these packed lunches are made by a local chef. Some of the food for the trip is purchased before commencement and special requirements cannot be catered for after departing. If you have not notified us before departure, you may be asked to pay for any additional food yourself. Many of our meals are at restaurants, so it is also beneficial if we can advise them before our arrival.
-
How physically fit do I need to be?Our tours are suitable for anyone with small, limited walking tracks to each destination. There are a few slight climbs and stairs, therefore please let us know during your booking if you have any physical concerns.
